The people also call it Mount Hydyr Zinda and it is a place of pilgrimage. This mountain has a wonderful shape, which attracts foreign tourists from all over the world. Outwardly, it looks like a hand with five fingers raised up. At the foot of Mount Beshbarmag, the holy place Pir Hydyr Zinda is located, where travelers stop to perform prayers and worship.

Shahdag (Shah “Tsar”, Dag “Mountain”) is a mountain peak in the eastern part of the Greater Caucasus, located in the north-east of Azerbaijan. This place is not in the list of the most beautiful corners of the Caucasus. The territory of the region is a link between Europe and the Middle East. The local climate impresses alpine skiing. In winter, the air temperature is often kept at minus 20-22 degrees. For these and many other reasons, it was at the foot of Mount Shahdag that a modern tourist complex was created that meets all European requirements. Winter-summer tourist complex "Shahdag" was opened in Azerbaijan in 2013 and provides all the necessary conditions for recreation and sports. Today, Shahdag has everything you need for outdoor activities. There are several hotels with a high level of service, there are four convenient and safe lifts, ski and snowboard equipment rentals are available. There is also a health center, a ski school, extensive parking and a carpet for the youngest winter sports fans. The complex is ready to please a variety of cableways: there are both drag and carousel, and soon there will be gondola ropeways. Shahdag is suitable for lovers of skiing, both with high and with zero level of training. There are trails for beginners and for real pros. Each of the slopes is prepared with the help of artificial snow generators, which allows you to make the ski season longer and the slopes are better and more enjoyable to ski.
